Provide you with advice and guidance if you are concerned that a pupil is experiencing abuse within their own relationship or witnessing abuse between adults at home. We will listen to your concerns and advise you on the best steps to take.
Provide training to professionals around:
Teen relationship abuse
How trauma impacts the adolescent brain
How to identify whether a pupil is exposed to domestic abuse
Deliver workshops about relationship abuse and healthy relationships to pupils (from Year 5 to college age). These can be delivered as one-off workshops or via a series of workshops to a smaller group of pupils.
Meet with young people in one-to-one settings on the school grounds (when Covid-19 restrictions lift).
Assist schools to understand their obligations under Operation Encompass, and how to support pupils who have witnessed a domestic abuse incident within their home.

Break the Cycle is a project run by Safe Steps, a specialist Southend‑based agency supporting people of all ages affected by domestic abuse. Safe Steps delivers a variety of interventions and support for men, women and families affected by domestic abuse.
